Leonard J. Swinyer, M.D., FAAD, CPI

Dr. Swinyer obtained his medical degree at the University of Vermont and completed his dermatology residency program at the University of Oregon. Prior to his dermatology residency program, Dr. Swinyer completed an internal medicine and pathology internship program and practiced medicine in the U. S. Navy. He is board certified in both dermatology and dermatopathology. He has conducted investigational research studies since 1979 and is a Certified Physician Investigator.


Douglas M. Woseth, M.D., FAAD

Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Woseth attended the University of Chicago for undergraduate, medical school and internship, and did his dermatology residency at the University of California, Irvine. Prior to joining our practice in 2006 Dr. Woseth was in private practice in Yorba Linda, California as well as a volunteer Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of California, Irvine. He is board certified in dermatology.


Laurie J. Ellis, DCNP, CCTI

Laurie obtained her bachelor's degree in nursing from Montana State University and worked as a registered nurse in Washington, Minnesota and Salt Lake City. In 1999 she completed her master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Westminster College. Laurie has practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in both internal medicine and dermatology, and in 2009 she became a Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner. She joined our practice in 2002 and has performed the duties of sub-investigator. She is ACRP certification as Certified Clinical Trial Investigator.


Michael R. Swinyer, PA-C

Mike obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Utah and worked as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator with us for six years. In 2004 he completed his master's degree as a Physician Assistant at the University of Utah. He worked at the Veteran's Hospital prior to returning to our practice in 2005 as Physician Assistant and Sub-Investigator.


Thalia A. Swinyer, RN, CCRC

Thalia obtained her nursing degree from Jeanne Mance School of Nursing in Vermont. In 1973 she joined her husband, Dr. Swinyer, as manager of his dermatology practice and they have worked together ever since. In 1979 Thalia and Dr. Swinyer did their first independent research study that was published in 1980 in JAMA. She was an ACRP Certified Clinical Research Coordinator from 1998 to 2010.


Laura J. Riley, CCRC, Director

Laura obtained her degree in interior design from Books College in Long Beach California and worked as an interior designer prior to joining our staff in 1991. In 1998 she received her ACRP certification as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator which she maintains. She is currently the director of Dermatology Research Center, Inc.


Christine B. Pyne, CCRC

Christine worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Swinyer prior to joining the research team in 2001. She is an ACRP Certified Clinical Research Coordinator and phlebotomist.


Kimberly D. Davenport

Kim joined us in 2002 as Administrative Assistant. She has since become a Research Assistant, recruiting specialist and 3rd party drug dispenser.


Billy D. Riley, Financial Officer

Billy received his degree in accounting from Salt Lake Community College. He joined our team in 2006 as Financial Officer working on all budgets and contracts. He is also a certified MOHS technician and is our backup 3rd party drug dispenser.
